Why HeartPlanted Started

HeartPlanted began as a promise: to turn grief into growth and love into living roots. What started with one family and one tree became a way for neighbors, schools, faith communities, and local partners to heal places we share—honestly, locally, and for the long term.

A first planting that became a movement.

We saw two realities at once: communities needed shade, cleaner air and water, wildlife habitat, and hopeful places to remember; and people needed a simple, supported way to plant the right trees, in the right places, with the right care. HeartPlanted is where those needs meet.

Founding principle: every neighborhood deserves a healthy canopy—and every family deserves a clear path to help build it.

How We Started

The earliest weekends were small: borrowed tools, donated mulch, and neighbors learning together. We focused on choosing native species, setting roots at the right depth, and watering with intention. Those practical habits shaped everything we do now—from the one‑page care plans to our DIY vs We‑Plant‑It options.

Learning by doing—watering rings, memorial markers, and student planting days.

History Behind the Founding

HeartPlanted was born from loss and the conviction that remembrance should live as action. We began by planting tribute trees for loved ones and quickly realized how many families wanted the same honest, practical path. From those early memorials came a wider invitation: plant for shade, plant for habitat, plant for future hands.

Mission & Vision

Our mission is to make planting trees simple, meaningful, and enduring: the right tree, in the right place, with the right care. Our vision is a region stitched together by shade corridors, alive with birds and pollinators, and full of places that hold memory and invite new beginnings.
